Saga Dawa Excursion 2011
Saga Dawa Festival is observed as one of the most important festival in Buddhist society all over the world.This festival held each year on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar.This festival is celebrated in honor of Sakyamuni's enlightenment.And this auspicious day coincide with three important events in Buddha's life, Birth, Nirvana and death,mailly held around Mount Kailash area, thousand people will come from different parts of Tibet and gethering on 15th of June and change the prayer flags at Darpoche ones year,this festival has been held here for the last thousand years... Having been part just once is such a powerful experience.

You can travel from China either from Nepal or end in Kashgar.

Drive from Kathmandu to Kodari and Walk to The Friendship Bridge,then cross the Tibet border,drive uphill to Zhangmu. After completing custom and immigration formalities,stay in Zhangmu or proceed to Nyalam O/nt Nyalam or similar 153 Kms 6-7 Hrs

Stay at Nyalam for acclimatization. The Group will be taken for a 3 hrs Trek in Nyalam . O/nt at Htl Nyalam or similar.
10th June Day03:DRIVE TO SAGA 4600m
Drive Nyalam to Saga 4600m 240 Kms 6-7 Hrs O/nt at Hotel Saga.
11th June Day04:DRIVE TO PARYANG 4750m
Drive to Paryang 4750m 255 Kms 5-6 Hrs O/nt at Htl Paryang.
12th June Day05:DRIVE TO MANASAROVER 4560m
Drive to Chui Gompa 4560m 223 Kms 5-6 Hrs Circumbulation of Lake Mansarovar. O/nt at Guest House.
13th June Day06:DRIVE TO DARCHEN 4620m
AM Free at Lake Manasarovar .
PM Drive to Darchen. O/nt at Guest House.
14th June Day07:DARCHEN EXCURSION
Drive to Serlung Monastery and to Nandi Parbat for an excellent view of Mount Kailash The Group will stay at Darchen and make finalpreparation for the Kailash Parikarma. O/nt at Guest House.
15th June Day08:FULLDAY EXCURSION AROUND DARPOCHE(SAGA DAWA FULLMOON)
16th June Day09:START TREK TO DIRAPUK
Drive ahead of Tarboche to the trek starting point of Kailash Parikarma (13 Kms) Trek to Dirapuk 4860m 7 Kms approx 5-6 Hrs.Guest House
17th June Day10:TREK TO ZUTHUL PUK (4760m)
Trek to Zuthul Puk 4760m 18 Kms. approx 9-10 Hrs. Guest House .
18th June Day11:TREK TO DARCHENG AND End & drive to Horchu,O/nt GH
End Kailash Kora 10 Kms approx 3-4 Hrs Trek. Drive to Paryang 270 Kms 6-7 Hrs. O/nt at Htl Paryang .
19th June Day12:DRIVE TO SAGA (4600m)
Drive to Saga 255 Kms 6-7 Hrs O/nt at Htl Saga.
20th June Day13:DRIVE TO RONGBUK (3750m)

Drive downhill to Zhangmu and Friendship Bridge where transportation awaits for the final leg of journey to Kathmandu. 153 kms / 7-8 hrs drive. O/n hotel.

Shopping in the morning time & transfer to airport for onward journey.
